Cat & Custard Pot – Sunday Evenings in the Pizza Chalet

Please find below the list of musicians playing the Sunday Session at The Cat & Custard Pot in August:

  • 2nd August – Joel Questle – Relaxed acoustic set featuring well-loved classics and modern favourites.
  • 9th August – Jake Rees – Amix of well-known covers alongside original songs.
  • 16th August – Darcey Mae – Live acoustic and vocal sets.
  • 23rd August – Rob Latimer – Acoustic sound and a mix of well-loved  
  • 30th August – Jasper Storey – Folk, jazz and soul singer-songwriter.All starting at 6pm.

Do come along for a pizza or salad and enjoy the music.

There are also new summer menus for both the Pub and Chalet and a new wine list. Come along and check them out.

Coffee Morning

There will be no coffee morning in the Cat this month.

Knead Bakery

Knead Bakery will be in the Village Hall car park this Saturday 1st August from 11.15am to 12pm.

Shipton Moyne Book Club

This month’s book choice is A Place of Tides by James Rebanks chosen by Caroline Chambers.  The Book Club will meet tonight at 6.30pm in the Cat & Custard Pot.

Next month’s choice is The Names by Florence Knapp chosen by Claire Nelson.  The next meeting will be on Thursday 27th August at 6.30pm

Coffee Morning in the Village Hall

The next coffee morning will be on 8th August at 10.30am.  Do come along for delicious home made treats and coffee.

Road Closures – A Message From Lucy Boggis-Rolfe

While the waterworks are being done in the Street and Southside you are welcome to park in the paddock on the right as you go out of the village towards Malmesbury. There are two gates one opposite the Rec off the track and one just passed Roger Smith’s house. Hope that’s helpful.

ELIZABETH HODGES EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION – GLOUCESTERSHIRE

The Trustees of the Elizabeth Hodges Trust will be holding its next meeting on Tuesday 20th October 2026. Anyone who would like to be considered for a grant to help towards promoting education should apply in writing. All grants to assist with further studies either at University or on an apprenticeship, are looked at individually and are considered on the educational merit. The Deed specifies that the income of the Foundation shall be used in promoting education (including social and physical education) to persons under the age of 25 who live, or whose parents live, within the following parishes: Shipton Moyne, Long Newnton, Westonbirt and Lasborough, Didmarton, Ashley and Tetbury Upton, and require financial assistance. Therefore, you do not need to be going to University to apply, we will also consider apprenticeships, educational trips and equipment purchases, etc for the furtherance of education(including the study of music and other arts).

Anyone who wishes to be considered for a grant should write to the Clerk to the Trustees:-

The Trustees do ask that you give us as much information as possible about the course or apprenticeship you will be studying or working towards, where you will be studying and how the grant monies will be utilised.

Tetbury Goods Shed – Rupert Egerton-Smith

For those who enjoy a classical concert there is a real treat at the Goods Shed next Saturday 8th August.  Rupert Egerton-Smith will be giving a piano recital of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Rachmaninov.
