Dear All,
Ken Dryden
Pat has asked me to let you all know that there will be a service of thanksgiving for Ken’s life on Tuesday 2nd August at 2pm in the village church. She would love to see as many as possible there.
She has shared a few thoughts about Ken with me:
He was born in Selkirk on 30 August 1943. The family moved to Tetbury when he was 17 – his Dad was a baker.
He and Pat met in 1966 and married in 1968. They have two children Richard and Ryan, and five grandchildren, Sam (25), Beth (23) Charlie (20), Jack (7) and Jessica (4). Ken was a big family man.
Ken loved sport, especially rugby and football, and was a talented footballer..
He also loved their holidays in Cornwall.
St John The Baptist
There will be a Family service on Sunday at 11.15, taken by the Carlings. All welcome, and do stay for coffee and biscuits afterwards.
The following Sunday is the 5th in the month so there will be no service at Shipton Moyne, but an evensong at Long Newnton for the whole benefice.
Help wanted
Message from Harry Wright at 5 The Street:
“Wanted: somebody (perhaps on a gap year) to earn some pocket money and help with garden watering between 30 July and 8 August. Probably 1-2 hours a day, timing entirely flexible. Please contact the Wrights.”
Any news let me know,
Beth
