Village News 2nd December 2022

Dear All,

St John the Baptist

There will be a service of Holy Communion on Sunday at 11.15am, led by Rev Julie Nicholson. All welcome.

Carol Service

This will be on December 18th at 4.00pm. Julie has sent the following message:

Could we put out an appeal for readers for the carol service. Readers of all ages – five to 95! Also…characters needed for a short but ‘dramatic’ Christmas play to be performed at the carol and/or crib service, maybe both. Characters needed:

  • Grumpy Innkeeper
  • Mary
  • Joseph
  • 3 Shepherds
  • 3 Kings
  • 3 Angels
  • A baby under four months old or a baby doll

Please contact Julie 07850 367779, if you want to perform or have any suggestions for performers!

Carol Singing

We have had to change the date to suit key performers…

Carol singing will now be on Thursday 22nd December, starting at the Birdwoods at 6.00pm for a cup of tea and a mince pie.

We will be reverting to the traditional pre-Covid format travelling around the world with stopping points to be confirmed and coming back into the village at the south end and working our way back to the pub! If you can’t make it for 6pm, join us on the journey.

Beaufort Hunt

Tomorrow morning the meet will be at the Cat & Custard Pot at 10.45. Refreshments will be available.
