Dear All,

Plans for the Jubilee are progressing well. Have you got your tickets yet?  We need to confirm numbers for catering by the end of the week so please visit Doreen or the Pub to pick them up. Fresh supplies of tickets arrived yesterday.

Thursday 2nd June  – Evening on the Rec

The pyrotechnics team (Martin Allies, Derek Baker, Wayne Hardiman, Stephen White and Ken Dryden) are very excited to be involved in this momentous occasion to commemorate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

We will be building a large beacon in the far corner comprising of linseed bales and a firework display to follow. As the fire will burn at a very high heat and speed it is crucial that you keep the younger members of your party at a safe distance far behind the cordoned off area.

A successful display will hopefully pave the way for future November 5th Firework events which I know is missed by large sectors of the local community.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

The beacon and firework display will be preceded by a fun evening on the Recreation Ground with games, a BBQ with delicious Platinum Jubilees Turkey Steaks (recipe from our own Masterchef, Koj)  Sausages and Haloumi Burgers. There will also be a bar with beer and wine, and soft drinks for the children followed by Ice creams.

Friday 3rd June – Street Party

You will also need tickets for this so we know how many to cater for.

Please let Pauline Curthoys or Diane Peplow have your contributions for the Tombola.  Bottles, sweets, biscuits, unwanted presents all welcome.

More news to follow shortly,

Beth
