She has high viz jackets and bin bag for the helpers. Don’t forget to bring gloves.
Dog Waste
There have been many reports of dog poo on the pavements and bags of waste thrown into the verges. Please could all dog owners make a great effort to pick up after their dogs and put the waste in the bins which are situated:
- At the end of Church Lane
- On the Triangle by Shipton Cottage
- By the Rec entrance on Hedgeditch Lane
Plant Table
Anne Carr-Jones is running her plant table again this year and sent this message:
I have started the Plant Table once again and I am very much hoping that people will contribute to it. Any plants are welcome and also any spare seeds, etc. that people may have. I am hoping that there will be a wide range of different plants and also seeds. Plants in garden centres are now seriously expensive so hopefully we will get lots of donors and also buyers. It would be great to make a total of £500 plus this summer.
There is already a selection of plants available and lots more to come. Last year’s table raised over £400 for Village Charities.
Coffee Morning at the Cat & Custard Pot
This month’s coffee morning at the Cat will be on Tuesday 19th April at 11am. Come along and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
Proposed Boundary Changes for Shipton Moyne Parish
A message from the Chairman of the Parish Council, Christopher Hallpike:
On Tuesday 29th of March the Parish Council held an Extraordinary Meeting, which Shipton Moyners were encouraged to attend, to reconsider its earlier decision about a proposed parish boundary change that would take a number of Shipton Moyne properties into the parish of Westonbirt – with – Lasborough. This meeting was held because it was discovered that the residents affected had not been properly consulted. The meeting was lively and well attended, and as a result of the public response the Parish Council unanimously decided that it would oppose Cotswold District Council’s proposed boundary change because some of the affected residents strongly objected, it was unnecessary and costly, and was of no benefit to Shipton Moyne.
Talk on Saturday 23rd April
There will be a talk by Sir Nicholas White (Christopher’s father) in the church entitled The 18,000 KM Diaries, describing his fundraising journey from China to the UK via the North Cape.
