Following the closure of the school, the Parish Council purchased the school, school house and land on 20th November 1972, from the Elizabeth Hodges Trust. It subsequently sold off the school house and a piece of land on which now stands Paddock House.
The monies raised from the sale of School House and plot was enough to cover the cost of buying the hall and enabled the new committee to invest sufficient funds to help maintain the Hall. The monies received by the Elizabeth Hodges Trust from the sale were invested and from the interest students under the age of 25 living in the village can apply for a grant towards their further education.
The Hall has since been at the centre of the Village and now is regularly rented out for meetings, parties, art classes and exercise classes having at various times been home to the WI, Youth Club and a Mother and Toddler Group.
For many years it has hosted a Flower Show in August.
